New SAGA

SAGA FACE LIFT (NEW MODEL 2011)
Powered by the same 1,332 cc Campro engine with 94 hp and 120 Nm, the Saga FL gets Proton’s new face, which will be sign of things to come. As detailed before, the new exterior consists of new lamps front and rear, new grille, new bumpers on both ends and new design rims. Standard variants ride on 175/70 R13 wheels while Executive FLs use 185/60 R14 rubber.

This is probably the most anticipated car in the history that I have had this blog running, the car that will mark the retirement of the old Proton Saga and mark the beginning of a new saga in the history of Proton. It is what both we and Proton call “the People’s Car”.It is the car that signifies Proton is going back to the basics and fulfilling its responsibility as the national car manufacturer to actually produce national cars that the majority of the people actually need – a cheap, economical run-about car with a sedan bodystyle. That car is the new second generation 2008 Proton Saga, known to us for the past few years as the Proton BLM.

GEN2

The Gen-2 is the first Proton model to use the new Proton/Lotus developed Campro engine. Although the Gen-2's S4PH 1.6 Litre engine delivers a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 11.2 seconds (manual transmission) and a contemporary maximum power output of 110 PS (81 kW; 108 hp) at 6000 rpm, it suffers from poor mid-range torque. This is due to a torque dip in the crucial 2,000 to 3,000 rpm operating range, where the torque output decreases slightly before picking up back to its peak torque, which is delivered at 4,000 rpm. This torque characteristic can clearly be seen in manufacturer published engine performance curves and is widely attributed to the missing Camshaft Profiling System (CPS) technical feature that the engine was named after, but which did not make production, to save costs. The original (non-CPS) Gen-2's ECU's Engine and Automatic Transmission mapping has been modified several times since the car's launch to improve perceived mid-range pick-up, but the upgrades did not markedly improve the cars driveability. This undesirable torque dip was eventually corrected by Proton in 2008 with the introduction of the "new" Campro engine, designated Campro CPS, which finally delivered camshaft profiling (variable valve timing) as part of the engine specification

EXORA

The Proton Exora chassis uses a MacPherson strut design at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. It measures 4,592 mm (180.8 in) long, 1,809 mm (71.2 in) wide and 1,691 mm (66.6 in) tall with a wheelbase of 2,730 mm (107.5 in). It is powered by the Campro CPS engine producing 125 hp (93 kW) and 150 N·m (110 lb·ft) of torque, resulting the top speed of165 km/h (103 mph).

What is The EXORA BCM features?

Persona Elegance

We just got back from the launch of the facelifted Proton Persona, which is officially called the Proton Persona Elegance. Available in three trim levels – Base Line, Medium Line and High Line – the Persona Elegance is powered by the familiar 1.6-litre Campro IAFM engine with 110 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 148 Nm of torque from 4000 rpm. Buyers can choose between a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual, but the High Line model only comes with the auto ‘box.

Satria Neo

On the 13th February the Satria Neo CPS had been lanched by Proton at the APAC Subang. The main difference from the previous one is off course the campro cps engine itself and few exterior changes and interior changes itself. However the Neo CPS is only available in two colour Tranquility Black (Metallic) or Solid white (Solid) rather than a whole spectrum of colour offered by the standard Satria Neo.The 1.6 liter campro cps engine features the Cam Profile Switching Technology(CAMPRO) (simillar to a vtec) and VIM (Variable Intake Manifold technology). The adaptation of this two technology will gives you a high performance high revving car in the same time, your are able to bring this car to your workplace while still maintaning a low fuel consumption.
